Olena Gurnitska

psychologist, psychotherapist

I am a psychologist and psychotherapist with many years of professional experience in Ukraine and Poland. My career has always been connected with people — their stories, challenges, and inner resources that help them overcome difficult life moments.

Since 2009, I have been a member of the Ukrainian Union of Psychotherapists. I specialize in systemic family therapy and clinical psychology.

In Ukraine, I coordinated social initiatives for children on the autism spectrum, led a non-governmental organization, and actively participated in municipal programs aimed at improving the quality of family life.

In Poland, I continue this work, focusing on supporting children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma or forced migration.

I have extensive practical experience in conducting individual and group consultations, psychological assessments, and working with people with special needs: autism (ASD), ADHD, depression, PTSD, anxiety, and behavioral disorders.

I have worked in specialized psychological and pedagogical counseling centers, medical and rehabilitation centers, as well as in international projects such as ARQ National Psychotrauma Centre, International Medical Corps, and UNICEF.

In my work, I use various approaches and methods of psychotherapy — from imagination-based therapy (symboldrama), through trauma and violence therapy, to art therapy, mindfulness, and sandplay therapy.

I combine scientific and creative approaches to choose the form of help that best suits the client’s needs.

I believe that psychological support should be not only professional but also filled with human warmth. That is why I always strive to combine scientifically grounded methods with an empathetic and individual approach.

I am fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, English (B2), and Polish (B2), which allows me to work with multicultural groups and create a space for dialogue.
